The Town of Monument is a statutory town situated at the base of the Rampart Range in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. Monument is bordered by Pike National Forest on the west, Colorado Springs and the United States Air Force Academy to the south, foothills and rock outcroppings to the north, and rolling plains to the east.

An Outdoor Paradise

If you love the outdoors and enjoy spending time among mountains and canyons, Monument is for you. Although there is more to explore just outside of Monument, Monument offers over 30 miles of trails. The most popular hike is to Monument Rock and is 2.7 miles. This hike is dog-friendly and suitable for kids and beginners.
 
Another popular hike is Mount Herman Trail which is 2.2 miles round trip and has amazing views of Palmer Lake and the Air Force Academy.
 
 

What To Do

Local Attractions

Although hiking and spending time outdoors are the most popular things to do here, Monument offers a few other fun things to do. A few of our favorite things to do include golfing at Kings Deer Golf Club, playing a game or two of Pickleball at Monument Valley Park Pickleball Courts, or stopping at Ice Cave Cider House for a local orchard pressed cider.
